What is trekking? trekking means to travel or migrate, especially slowly or with difficulty which exactly implies a long difficult journey, especially one made on foot. The common means of transportation is not available in trekking. Unlike other traveling trekking is very different. The etymological meaning of the trekking denotes to draw, pull or travel. The term was derived from the South African word trek.

The above saying by Gene Roddenberry signifies the modern or advance journey which is definitely done with the aims of exploring the new world. The trekking is quite different. Trekking implies adventurous journey especially done in holiday and vacation.
The nations which are depending on tourism industries have adopted the trekking package for tourists. So many short, medium or long distance trekking routes have been opened for tourists.
It is seen the large number of trekkers are lured in Himalayan route trekking. So the government of Nepal has given permit to conduct trekking phenomenon in Himalayan regions. Such as Mount Everest, Annapurna, Dolpo, Manaslu and Langtang are typical or major trekking destination in Nepal.
